on December 09, 2019

This past weekend my wife was looking absolutely too good to just go straight home after church. So, after considering a few places to eat before we went to look at Christmas decorations for our house; we settled on Bonefish Grill in Orland Park, IL. Not the most plant-based friendly restaurant out ...[continue]

on October 09, 2019

I had not been to Olive Garden for ten years due to a bad experience with a hostess and waitress. I won't bring up old news because I'm fairly certain that anyone related to that incident is long gone from the company. So, last night after attending the Judge Mathis show with Meeks; she sai...[continue]

on July 02, 2019

Meeks loves seafood, specifically crab legs and lobster. With me being plant-based we haven't gone out and eaten at a seafood restaurant together in the 4 years we have been together as a couple. This is because she refuses to let me take her somewhere to eat where the restaurant doesn't hav...[continue]

Our oldest son had been asking to go to a Hibachi Grill for a few months; so to celebrate his graduation we took him Hamada of Japan. Let me say outright; as an experience; the Hibachi Grill was phenomenal. We had a great cook/waiter and everybody enjoyed their meals... including me.

Weekend eats! We visited The Shanty Restaurant in Wadsworth, IL this weekend. It had been featured on The Food Network, so since we were near the area celebrating Meeks' birthday we decided to give it a shot. There was a 45-minute wait to get a table, but it was well worth it.

Eating Plant-Based/Vegan in New Orleans

Places to Eat

Corey Buckner (@cbuckner)
on July 16, 2018

When Meeks and I arrived in New Orleans this past weekend I was starving. I hadn't eaten a full meal since about 1 o'clock the previous day due to traveling on a tight schedule, so Meeks suggested I try the IHOP, IHOB, or whatever they are now. So I walked over and after browsing the menu fo...[continue]

Birthday Dinner: Cooper's Hawk Black Bean Burger

on February 12, 2018

This weekend was Tamekia's birthday, so of course a nice dinner out on the town was part of the weekend plans. I made reservations for us at Cooper's Hawk, a winery, so I knew going in that plant-based options would be few. No worries though, this was her night and I felt Cooper's Hawk w...[continue]

Lunch on the Run at Potbelly

Places to Eat

on November 17, 2017

FUN FACT: Potbelly Sandwich Shop no longer has their veggie sub on the menu. You can still get it so long as it's still in the system; but the only thing resembling a plant-based option on their menu now is a Portobello Mushroom melt (sans the melt of course). I didn't have time to meal prep...[continue]

Mr. Submarine to the Rescue

Well, this wasn't my plan for today but due to a confluence of events, here I am. First was the pesticide-laden fruit I brought with me from Wal-Mart. I didn't feel like meal prepping this morning, so I bought precut fruit from Wally World. Big mistake, as I couldn't get the heavy taste ...[continue]
